Welcome to my website!  My name is Jackie Kirkham (she/her), and this site is where I will talk about my writing and my nature-related adventures.

I write broadly in the genre of nature/place/environment (narrative non-fiction), and my first book, “The Calm Place”, was published in June 2023. This link takes you to all the places where it can be bought online, or if you would like to order it from your library or local independent bookshop instead, I would be delighted! (if you do this, please tell them that it is available from the Ingram catalogue). In August 2024 I published a short chapbook of nature poetry, “The Wizard of Flanders Moss”. Ebooks are available from this link and print copies are available from my Etsy store here.

I live in beautiful Scotland, so there is plenty of nature and landscape for me to enjoy!  My day job is research nursing, which satisfies my inner nerd, but reading and writing, inspired by the natural life around me, is how I relax.  I look forward to sharing my writing and inspiration with you.
