My book The Calm Place has now been published, and I have been delighted with early feedback. This account of the year in my garden during 2020 seems to have hit a chord with early readers, and I look forward to more people discovering it.
I chose to self-publish the book under the imprint name Wynding Way as the traditional publishing process takes such a long time (being taken on by an agent, then publisher, then extensive editing etc could take at least a further couple of years) that I was worried the timeliness and relevance of the book would be lost if it was not published sooner. Learning to be a publisher as well as an author has been quite a rollercoaster, but I was determined to do it well and thus had the book professionally edited and commissioned a great cover, so that I would feel that it held its own alongside traditionally-published books on the bookshelf. I am really proud of the end result, and hope that you enjoy it!
The Calm Place is available in ebook and paperback formats, and is available to buy online from the online retailers at this link. It can also be requested from your local library or independent bookstore (the paperback is available on the Ingram catalogue for libraries and bookstores, and the ebook for libraries via Overdrive).
If you read the book, I’d love to know what you think – please do leave me a review on your online retailer and/or book-related website of choice (eg Goodreads or LibraryThing). I hope you enjoy it! You can also sign up to my occasional author newsletter here. Thank you!
